"Music is unuseful set of sounds, that is widely overestimated." Truly, I don't know people who think in this way, and phrase itself is only a result of a final transformation from cold relation to music to the side of complete indifference. I dought though that indifference can be complete. Music did not appear yesterday and not a century ago and it did not appear casually. Music is untaken part of human life, culture, is a part of people themselves. The most frequent explanation of such indifference may be explained: all around us on a "formatted" shows(i.e. almost every single one of them) radio and TV we are being bounded to listen as a music a primitive and usually low-quality cookies. There is no surprise someone wants to stay away of that. On the other side to find something new in music independently(and not from a list proposed by "culturally correct" media) one should have a certain musical scope, one should first of all have an access to the other kind of music - and that may need a lot of efforts and time. But time and needed abilities are something that just may not happen to be around and as a result, voluntarily or forced, one is denying himself to meet a valuable part of human's culture, is limiting a possibilities of a spirit perception.
