Symbol
A lot of people use music in a quality as a common denominator, to find a common language, cause for communication. Especially it's typical for youth older than 14. You and me love the same group, wear same shoes, let's go and drink beer together. Around(or close to) some music styles(like rap/hip-hop or punk) stable communities have gathered long ago. Talking smart language - subcultures. It's thought that a man, adding himself to one of this subcultures is expressing his discrepancy, is putting himself to opposition to something bringing some idea message. The problem is he does not clearly understands against what he should to protest and this passions are temporary, superficial and are explained with a fashion. Despite that a lot of "alternative" directions are puting themselves exactly as an alternative to mass culture they themselves are a part of it, obey same rules and have same properties and signs: love for attributes on one side and a sick interest for private life of their idols on the other. In other words punks and gopniks drink same beer... Music is going on the background, foreground by fetishism, intensively feed by industry. Musical idols can randomly change, becoming a causes for fights or clothes patterns. Especially this sick symbolism attracts kids and teenagers proposing a full set of doughtful values instead of music. "Music is our everything" To this category may be related those who are common to be called "melomans". This people usually have a prevalent taste and pretty specific musical preferences, most frequently in limits of so called serious music. Meloman spends a lot of efforts and resources for collectioning his favorite music, preferring quality editions and carriers, if possible buys good acoustic systems. Music is an important part of his life and in a certain way influences his very life. It gives to meloman a strong and sometimes a bit painful pleasure - and at the same time a man often becomes a dependant on this music. Passion for collectioning turns love for art into philately.
